BAHAWALPUR: World Cancer Day was observed across the world,including Pakistan on Thursday in order to create awareness among the public about the disease.
To raise awareness about cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection and treatment, World Cancer Day is celebrated on February 4 every year.
Bahawalpur Institute of Nuclear Medicines and Oncology (BINO) held aseminar Thursday to mark the day.
Talking on the occasion Director BINO Dr Shahab Fatmi and other speakers highlighted the causes, prevention and management of the disease.
An interactive session was held for women to apprise them about self-examination of breast cancer.
Free medical checkup of women was done by the doctors. Deserving patients were provided free ultrasonography and mammography scans.
