Metropolis to be cleaned up of terrorism: Corps Commander Karachi

KARACHI: Corps Commander Karachi Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar expressed aims to get rid of every kind of terrorism and its facilitators.

Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar said that indiscriminate action against criminals were being taken in the metropolis. He said that security forces were given task to chase terrorists. He said that law enforcement agencies have made many achievements so far while various are due.

He appealed all stakeholders to support action against militants and mafias in the metropolis. Mukhtar was addressing seminar entitled ‘Peace, Security and Governance’ organised by National Defence University. He said that fight underway to uproot terrorists, target killers, extortionists and other criminals persons.

He admitted presence of criminal elements including drug dealers, Al-Qaeda in the metropolitan city giving 65 per cent revenue to whole country. The military official urged need to make police and administration independent to implement law and order.

He clarified that it is their responsibility to maintain peace & security, as well as he appealed all stakeholders to support action against militants and mafias in the metropolis.
