KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Pakistan chief Senator Siraj-ul-Haq has called on Pir Pagara Sabghatullah Rashdi, the spritual leader of Hur clan and chief of the Pakistan Muslim League- Functional (PML-F) to invite him to support and join the upcoming campaign of the JI against corruption and poverty.
In a meeting at Kingri Hiouse on Saturday, the JI chief said that corruption is the root cause of all evils and miseries of the country. He elaborated that Pakistan is currently under burden of $70 billion, while the corrupt ruling regime has so far transferred more than $375 billion, abroad.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that he called on Mr. Rashdi for consultation over the deteriorating situation of the country. He praised the role and services of Pagara family for the country.
He further said that the situation has been deteriorated at a level when officials of the World Bank are confessing that the Pakistani government does not spend the loan money for the purpose it was sought.
He further said that such a worsting situation can not be tolerated any more. The lives of people have become more cheap than as daily life essential items. There is no value of lives and possessions of people and the government has miserably failed to resolve or even mitigate the issues of people, instead the ruling regime has been increasing the problems of common men.
Not only all political workers but people from all walks of life, including students, lawyers, teachers, doctors, engineers, traders and journalists would be invited to join the JI’s massive campaign against corruption, he said.
The JI leader added that no nation can progress on the basis of foreign loans. Only ruling regimes and their families are only beneficiaries of these foreign heavy loans.
Earlier Pir Sahab Pagara warmly welcomed the JI chief. Speaking on the occasion he announced to join the JI’s movement against corruption.
He strictly criticized the government for its failure in maintaining law and order. Pakistan should be corruption free and the basic needs of people should be met by the government, he said.
Rashdi was of the view that maintaining law and order is not the police department’s cup of tea. He said that the government has put the burden of its obligations on the Rangers and army. On the other hand the government itself is creating hurdles for them in discharging their duties.
