Magnitude 7.0 quake shakes Yelizovo, Russia

A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.0 earthquake strikes eastern Russia, 57 miles NNE of Yelizovo on Saturday.

The quake struck at 3:25 p.m. local time on Saturday, was centered about 95 kilometers (59 miles) north of Yelizovo, a town in Kamchatka Krai.

It struck about 159 kilometers (99 miles) deep, making it a relatively deep earthquake.

Other details were not immediately available. No tsunami warnings have been issued.
