LAHORE: As many as 6,000 policemen will be deployed to provide security to ensure fool proof security to Zimbabwe along with 60 vehicles and helicopters. Around 3,000 policemen will be deployed inside the stadium when the matches are being played.
Pakistan has heightened the security plan for the visiting Zimbabwe team which will arrive in Lahore on May 19. Full dress rehearsal for implementation of security was also held on Saturday (today) in Lahore.
President like VVIP status will be given to the team and all roads leading from their hotel to the Gaddafi Stadium will be blocked.
The African team will play two Twenty20 internationals on May 22 and 24 and three one-day internationals on May 26, 29 and 31. All matches are to be played in Lahore.
No team has visited Pakistan since militants attacked the visiting Sri Lankan team bus in Lahore back in 2009.
Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has not announced the green shirts squad for ODI’S a and T20 yet. While Zimbabwe has announced its team for both the squads.
