National Book Museum attracts visitors

ISLAMABAD: National Book Museum here at National Book Foundation (NBF) attracting a large number of people particularly book readers.

The Foundation got as donation-26 rare old Quran-i-Pak handwritten with gold water having worth of more than Rs 10 million from a citizen Zahid Parvez Butt.

Besides rare books, manuscripts, sculptures, book tree, single stone book of 8 tons, book clock, wall of honour, are also part of this Museum.

The National Book Museum first of its kind in the country, remembering national heroes and literary personalities such as Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal, Mirza Ghalib, Hafeez Jalandri, Saadat Hasan Minto, Ahmad Nadeem Qasmi and many others of well reputed figures.

Managing Director NBF Prof Dr Inam-ul-Haq Javed said, “It is a great inspiration for young generation and book-art lovers to learn about their cultural values, literature, artistic asset and rich heritage.”

He said that the Foundation is promoting country culture, disseminating knowledge and inculcating book reading habit.

“Books and art bring tranquility, harmony and softness in our minds which lead to the path of peace and love in the society,” he said.

He added that establishment of National Book Museum in the Capital is completely cause oriented and ideally suited for promotion of our national literary heritage, literacy, education and book culture among all.
