‘Attack on Charsada university, attack on entire Pakistan’

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi chief Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has strictly condemned the brutal massacre at the Charsada’s Bacha Khan University and said that the attack on the university is tantamount to targeting the entire country.

Expressing his grief and sorrow over the loss of precious lives of profesoer and students, he said that the JI is standing firmly with the grieved families as they have bear irreparable loss.

He stressed the need to act upon the National Action Plan in letter and spirit. He was of the view that safeguarding lives of people is the prime responsibility of the federal and provincial governments.

Citing the statement of the Indian defence minister in which he had vowed to take the revenge of the Pathankot incident at the ground of their own choice, the JI leader further said that the involvement of foreign hand behind the massacre could not be ruled out.

He added that the brutal attack on innocent students was an attempt to weaken the nation. He urged for national unity, reconciliation and harmony as he was of the view that the foreign conspiracies could only be foiled with the help of unity and harmony among people.

He offered condolences to the grieved families, prayed for the departed souls and demanded of the government to inquire the massacre and bring perpetrators to full justice.

He also expressed his grief over the martyrdom of the only son of JI Mardan chief, young son of deputy chief of JI Malakand.
