CPEC to start benefiting country by end of year: Ahsan

ISLAMABAD: Minister for Planning, Development and Reform, Prof. Ahsan Iqbal said on Wednesday that the multi-billion dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) initiative would start benefiting the country by the end of this year.

Talking to the columnists here, he said that mutual consensus from both sides is imperative for the projects being completed under the CPEC.

He said that the long-term projects will be completed by the year 2020 while other projects will be completed during the year 2025 to 2030.

The minister said, under the Vision- 2025, the government has made a comprehensive plan to make Pakistan a developed country.

He said, Pakistan enjoys close friendly relations with China, adding people from all walks of life and political parties are on one page in this regard.
