ISLAMABAD:: Senate Chairman Mian Raza Rabbani on Wednesday proposed formation of a parliamentary committee for overseeing security issues.
Referring to the terrorist attack on Bacha Khan University Charsadda, he said calling an in-camera briefing or holding All Parties Conferences (APCs) on security issues sounded like cosmetic steps, rather continuous parliamentary oversight might help reach any viable solution to tackle such incidents.
He asked Leader of the House Raja Zafarul Haq to convey to the government his suggestion for setting up a parliamentary committee for monitoring security issues.
