CHARSADDA: At least 19 persons mostly students were killed and several wounded as terrorists stromed Bacha Khan University on occasion of an ‘Mushaira’ held to commemorate the death anniversary of late ‘Khudai Khidmatgar’ Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan alias Bacha Khan on Wednesday.
President Charsadda Press Club, Faiz Muhammad told APP that he himself counted 19 dead bodies wrapped in coffins with named inscribed on it at the DHQ Hospital Charsadda. He said still one block of the university was in siege by the terrorists where gun fight continued.
However PTI senior leader MPA Shaukat Yousafzai quoting DIG Maradan Saeed Wazir said 20-25 people have so far been reportedly martyred in the incident which was still continued.
Taking benefit of the thick fog in the morning, Shaukat Yousafzai said the terrorists entered the university from the back side killing the security guard on duty and resorted to indiscriminate firing on the premises by taking certain blocks into their control.
