JI condemns failure of local bodies machinery after rain

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has expressed his deep concern over the post rain deteriorating situation of the civic facilities in the city.

Condemning the failure of civic institutions and machinery, he said that just a low level rain had unearthed the reality and strength behind the towering claims of the city administration.

In a statement, issued here at the JI headquarters on Tuesday, he said raised the question over validity of the administrations’s claims regarding rain emergency and said that what would be happening if moderate or heavy rains test the sustainability of preparedness of the city administration.

The JI chief said that stinking water was already stagnant at a large number of points in the city, while the rain had also hit the roads and other facilities with severe damages and an extreme deteriorating scenario was witnessed.

He further said that despite the presence of local government, the dwellers of the city are facing acute problems. He said that unfortunately still there is no caretaker of the city. Meanwhile Engr. Naeem also strictly condemned the killing of a innocent citizen by policemen. He said that due to the excessive usage of force by the police department the force itself has become a symbol of terror in the society.

He said that the killings incidents of innocent citizens in the pretext of police encounters have been rising continuously. He raised the point if shooting a rider just for violating the caution to stop is as per the law?

The JI leader offered his condolences to the grieved family and demanded of the government to bring the perpetrators to full justice and provide them with exemplary punishment.
