Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) on Saturday submitted a plea in the Supreme Court (SC) seeking removal of ban on video sharing website, Google’s YouTube, in the country.
The plea was submitted to the apex court after launching of YouTube’s local version in Pakistan. According to the PTA’s lawyer, YouTube was banned over judicial orders following presence of blasphemous content.
The plea stated that debatable content was not present on the local version launched in Pakistan while YouTube’s administration will be responsible for remove any controversial content if uploaded on the website.
