Low yields of oranges in the season have lessened the total exports by at least 1.5 lac tonne.

The All Pakistan Fruit & Vegetable Exporters, Importers & Merchants Association (PFVA) has dispatched a letter addressed to Chief Minister (CM) Shahbaz Sharif.

The letter urges the government to take note of the current export situation.

According to the exporters, mere 2 lac tonne oranges would be exported in the ongoing year.

While in the same period of 2015, at least 3.50 lac tonne oranges were exported which were worth USD 19 crore.
