Speaker KP Assembly-led delegation meets Sirajul Haq

Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Asad Qaiser led high-level delegation held meeting with Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq in Islamabad on Tuesday where they apprised him regarding emerging reservations over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project.

On the occasion, Senator Sirajul Haq criticised the government over secret handling of CPEC instead of implementation of plans. He said that the government was not fulfilling promises regarding the CPEC project. Siraj strongly opposed to limit CPEC benefits for one provinces instead of adequate sharing to other provinces which definitely results lack of confidence and feeling of deprivation till provision of perks with equality to all provinces.

While answering a question, the JI Ameer said that it was a sorrowful thing to inaugurate an old project of National Highway Authority (NHA) in name of Western route of CPEC in Balochistan few day ago by the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

He clarified that CPEC was project for whole country; the government has responsibility to share benefits to smaller provinces besides Punjab. He urged the rulers to take the matter seriously regarding emerging concerns of smaller provinces by releasing route map of Western part of the CPEC project.

During the meeting, Speaker KP Asad Qaiser reiterated that CPEC was a nationwide project which needed Prime Minister to fulfill all promises regarding sharing benefits to all provinces. He urged the government not only to construct a road through the other provinces but to establish industrial zones, power production projects and trade centres in order to end feeling of deprivation among smaller provinces.
