KABUL: A loud blast rocked the Afghan capital Kabul on Friday, apparently caused by a car bomb that targeted a restaurant popular with Afghan officials and foreign diplomats, a police official said.

The official, who spoke on condition of anonymity said the explosion appeared to have hit “Le Jardin”, one of a small number of restaurants in Kabul still frequented by foreigners.

No information on damage or casualties was immediately available.
