NAP agenda for security of Pakistan: Chaudhry Nisar

ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said National Action Plan against terrorism is an agenda for security of Pakistan and there should be no politics over it.

In a statement on National Action Plan in the Senate on Wednesday evening, he said the plan is a shared responsibility as 10 out of 20 points relate to provinces, 8 to different ministries and others with the Military and the Intelligence Agencies.

He said there is satisfactory progress on 15 points and slow on the remaining 5. The Minister said there are 20,000 students in both registered and unregistered seminaries of the federal capital.

In the past, seminaries were established even on green belts but the present government has not allowed construction of any seminary without proper permission. He said as a result of NAP, marked improvement has been witnessed in security situation across the country.

The Senate was assured today that work on the western alignment of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will be executed as per decision of the All Parties’ Conference. During question hour, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal said there was a missing link of 650 kilometer on the western route and the government is committed to complete it by the end of the next year.
