KARACHI: Sindh High Court on Monday rejected investigation officer report in Dr Asim Hussain case and moved the case to Anti Terrorist Court.
The court rejected Dr Asim Hussain’s acquittal plea and directed to take him in police custody. He would be produced before ATC number-2 tomorrow.
Karachi police on November-25 registered a case against former petroleum minister and PPP leader Dr. Asim Hussain under terror charges. He was also accused of providing treatment to injured terrorists.
Earlier, Sindh Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah on Sunday replaced the special public prosecutor in the case against former federal minister, who faces charges of abetting terrorists.
The Sindh government had appointed Nisar Ahmed Durrani in place of Mushtaq Jehangiri as the special public prosecutor in the case.
On Friday, Jehangiri had also moved the court, filing a similar petition in which he accused the newly-appointed investigating officer, DSP Altaf Hussain, of conducting an unfair and partial investigation to favour the accused.
