Work underway on 24000 MW power projects: Dar

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar says the Government will add ten thousand MW of electricity in the national grid during its tenure.

Addressing a function in connection with Orange Line Metro Train project in Lahore on Monday, he said work is underway on power projects of twenty-four thousand MW.

The Minister described the Orange Line Metro Train project as historic.

He said under the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, the country is moving forward in the right direction.  He said economic indicators have been changed from minus to plus as a result of steps taken by the government.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor will usher in a new era of progress and prosperity for all the provinces of the country. He said energy projects being implemented under the CPEC, will help overcome shortage of energy in the country.
