The US Secretary of Defense Ashton Carter has arrived in Afghanistan on an unannounced visit to meet with the military commanders, U.S. troops and Afghan officials.
As per details, his visit to Afghanistan comes amid deteriorating security situation in the country with Pentagon reporting an overall security deteriorating during the second half of the current year.
“The overall security situation in Afghanistan deteriorated with an increase in effective insurgent attacks and higher ANDSF and Taliban casualties,” stated the 96-page report released on Tuesday.
