Imran Khan calls on Indian PM Modi

NEW DELHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Friday called on Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

External Affairs Ministry spokesman Vikas Swarup has said that the meeting was arranged on the request of PTI Chairman Imran Khan.

Mr Swarup said Mr Modi and Mr Khan welcomed the recent thawing in relations between India and Pakistan and expressed the hope that these would lead to cooperative ties between the two countries.

Imran Khan invited PM Narendra Modi to visit Pakistan, he added. Mr Modi is scheduled to visit Pakistan next year to attend the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) Summit meeting.
