ISLAMABAD: The mobile phone services in the twin cities have been resumed after a brief suspension ordered by the authorities, apparently due to security concerns on Friday.
A senior official said services were suspended at the directive of interior ministry in the light of intelligence reports about security threats.
The networks went offline after 11:00 a.m. A senior official of Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) said the services were restored at 2:00 p.m.
Majority areas in Islamabad and some in Rawalpindi have been without the cell phone service that caused extreme inconvenience to the general public.
