A 7.1 magnitude quake jolts KP, upper Punjab

ISLAMABAD: A strong earthquake of magnitude 7.1 on Monday hit Upper Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The quake create panic among the citizens and they came out of their houses and offices. The quake hit Islamabad about 12:54 pm.

The quake hit Shangla, Swat, Peshawar, Islamabad, Gilgit, Chitral and Malakand.

No loss of life or property reported yet.

The center of earthquake was in 109km (68mi) West of Murghob area of Tajikistan, the US Geological Survey (USGS) said.
