LAHORE: 44th martyrdom day of Major Shabbir Sharif is being observed today with fervor across the country.
Shabbir Sharif Shaheed was awarded Pakistan’s highest awards Nishan-e-Haider and Nishan-e-Jurrat in return of his valor and bravery in the 1971 war against India.
During the war the Major was deployed in Sulemanki sector where he embraced martyrdom while fighting the enemy troops on front lines.
Shabbir Sharif was awarded with sward of honor at the completion of the training. He laid down his life for the defence of our beloved homeland. He was laid to rest in Lahore’s historic Miani Sahab graveyard.
