Karachi LG polls: MQM leading amid rigging complaints

Unofficial results of Local Government (LG) election in six districts of Karachi city showed that ruling party Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) led polls in metropolitan city while Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) are on second.

The ruling party of the city, MQM have secured 20 chairman seats while JI and PTI combined managed to grab six seats.

PTI and JI faces a few upsets with their prominent leaders Najmi Alam and Ali Zaidi have faced defeats in their respective constituencies.

On the other hand, MQM is also leading in Union Council seats with 33 while PTI and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured five each.
