KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday announced that security duties will be performed by Rangers and Pakistan Army personnel on December 5 during local government (LG) election across Sindh including metropolis Karachi.
A notification has been released in this regarding, granting authorities of first-class magistrate and arrests to Rangers’ officials after entering into polling stations.
The notification also stated that security officials of Rangers and Pakistan Army will be allowed to take action under Anti-Terrorism act if citizens were facing interruption in electoral process.
