LONDON: Experts have succeeded to introduce a new technology that keep human lungs alive up to 24 hours outside the body. The new technique will help patients in lugs transplantation.

By using the old techniques lungs usually expired within 6 hours outside the body but now doctors could keep lungs alive for 24 hours by the new technology. Time has the key importance in a successful transplantation.

Royal Brompton and Harefield Hospitals and research centre hold 12 successful operation by using the new technology.
