Karachi election but not selection to be held on Dec 5: Sirajul Haq

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Ameer, Senator Sirajul Haq on Saturday addressed a huge crowd of JI and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists during a rally organised in connection with upcoming local government (LG) election in Karachi.

Sirajul Haq said that election but not selection will be held on December 5 at the event of LG polls across the metropolis.

He vowed to transform Karachi as developed and modern as Istanbul after gaining rulership of the metropolis. He added that Karachi will be enlisted as most developed metropolis across the Islamic countries and around the globe.

He said that Karachi is tied with corrupt mafia and land grabbers while Karachiites will be freed from such elements by JI leadership. JI wanted to establish peaceful environment across the metropolis, he added.

JI Ameer termed the day of LG election as ‘Day of Revolution’ for Karachi. He complained that rulership of the country has made injustice moves which spread menace in the economic hub of Pakistan.

The rally is being participated by thousands of JI and PTI activists in the presence of local and provincial leaders of both political parties which made coalition for the LG polls coming this December.

JI and PTI chiefs landed in the metropolis to pay special visit to Karachi in connection with upcoming LG election to be held on December 5, 2015. A joint rally is organised by both political parties which are already in coalition partnership in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government. The top political leaders of JI and PTI will deliver their addresses on different parts of the Karachi including Shahrah Faisal, Millenium Mall, Hassan Square, Patel Para and Mazar-e-Quaid.
