Rangers nab 46 criminals during Karachi raids

KARACHI: Paramilitary troops, Rangers, have arrested 46 suspected criminals including persons having ‘affiliation with political party and terrorists belonging to outlawed outfit’ during latest series of raids conducted during 24 hours in Karachi.

Rangers’ spokesperson said that the raids were conducted in Shah Faisal, Muhammadi Colony, Safora Goth, Khokhrapar, Frontier Colony, Lines Area, Quaidabad, Daud Chaurangi, New Muzaffarabad Colony, Korangi, Sohrab Goth, Nazimabad, Abul Hasan Isphani.

Weaponry also recovered from possession of the arrested criminals, spokesperson said.

The arrested persons were wanted to Rangers in different criminal cases including target killing, extortion, robbery and abduction for ransom.

The spokesperson added that the arrested persons have affiliated with a political party. However, identification of the nabbed persons was not revealed as yet.

The raids are still underway in different parts of the metropolis a day after deadly attack on Rangers’ personnel took place in Ittehad Town neighbourhood of Baldia Town yesterday which claimed lives of four security officials.
