England grabbed six-wicket victory against Pakistan by chasing 209 runs’ target during third One Day International (ODI) match being played at Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
James Taylor not out 67 and Jos Buttler not out 49 led their side to victory stand besides visible efforts of Eoin Morgan’s 35 and Alex Hales 30.
Amongst seven Pakistani bowlers, Zafar Gohar took two wickets while Shoaib Malik and Mohammad Irfan took one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan pacer Wahab Riaz exhibited outstanding all-rounder performance to lead his side to set reasonable target against England. English bowlers have easily shattered batting side as Mohammad Hafeez was top scorer from Green side with 45 runs while skipper Azhar Ali scored 36 runs.
Wahab Riaz showed responsibility by saving his wicket to lift Pakistan towards a reasonable target during tough time. Wahab Riaz scored not out 33 off 35 balls. Chris Woakes grabbed four wickets while Reece Topley, David Willey and Moeen Ali took one wicket each.
Earlier, Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat first against England. The host will miss the in-form leg-spinner Yasir Shah in the match who has been ruled out from the match due to knee injury. Zafar Gohar making his debut. Both England and Pakistan will be eyeing to gain lead in the four-match ODI series. Pakistan had defeated England in the first ODI by six wickets while suffered 95 runs defeat in the second game of the series against the visitors.
