CPEC to bring change in lives of masses: Rashid

ISLAMABAD: Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid has said that construction work on the western route of China Pakistan Economic Corridor project is continuing with full speed.   

Talking to the media persons in Islamabad today, he said the personnel of the armed forces have rendered their lives while providing security on the construction of this route.

Information Minister said this project will bring positive change in the lives of billions of people. He clarified that the CPEC will benefit the entire country and no region has been overlooked.

Earlier, addressing the media forum of the CPEC Information Minister said Corridor being a national project will benefit all the provinces.

He said the corridor project will further strengthen deep rooted and strategic relations between Pakistan and China.

The Information Minister said the two countries have laid the foundation of strong economic cooperation and high level exchanges are taking place to further cement the relations.

Pervaiz Rashid pointed out that connectivity is key to development and the CPEC is a flagship project between the two countries which will usher in a new era of development and promote peace in the region.

Pervaiz Rashid assured that the ministry of information and broadcasting will arrange bilateral exchanges of journalists from both the sides for promoting better understanding between Pakistan and China.

Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Sun Weidong said CPEC Media Forum will help strengthen the media collaboration between the two countries.

He said CPEC is a comprehensive development programme envisaging projects relating to energy, transportation, infrastructure, industrial development and Gwadar Port.

Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed who is also Chairman of Parliamentary Committee on CPEC termed the orridor a historic development. He said media forum on CPEC will provide information to different segments of society including students, business enterprises, civil society and private sector.
