BAGHDAD: Six police personnel and 30 prisoners were killed in a prison break in North of Baghdad. 40 prisoners were managed to escape from the jail during the riot.
Iraq Interior Ministry Spokesman said that a prisoner killed a police warden in Khalis city and attacked on the arsenal with the help of deceased’s weapon. A group of prisoners looted the arsenal and managed to escape.
Brigadier General Saad Maan said that clashes erupted inside the jail and a lieutenant among six police personnel were killed. 30 prisoners were also killed in the clashes. While 40 prisoners were managed to escape. Nine of the absconder were held on terror charges. 30 prisoners who had been held on terrorism charges were killed in the clashes, he said.
