ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan on Sunday approved recommendation of a disciplinary committee which was tasked to look into conduct of some party’s members in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Local Government elections.

Acting on these recommendations, Imran Khan expelled MPA Amjad Afridi from the party for his conduct in the LG polls, which led to the defeat of a PTI candidate.

MNA Shehryar Afridi and MPA Ziaullah Bangash have been reprimanded for “acting irresponsibly” in the LG elections.

According to a TV report, Senator Azam Swati failed to protect the interests of the party due to which he will have no role in the affairs of PTI in future in Mansehra.

Another Peshawar-based MPA Arif Bangash is also being reprimanded for his conduct. “MPA Yasir Khalil acted in a very irresponsible matter and prevented PTI counselors from casting their votes. It has been decided to bar him from holding any position in the party or government.”
