Dr. Syed Ghazi Ghulab Jamali from FATA has withdrawn nomination papers in favour of ruling Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq for upcoming polls to be held for National Assembly speakership.
The MNA-elected Dr. G. G. Jamali made decision to withdraw the nomination paper after meeting with Ayaz Sadiq. Both leaders made agreement to establish a five-member reformation committee for Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).
Moreover, a five-member reformation committee was also established following a notification released over directions of the Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif. The members include Nasir Khan Janjua, Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Sardar Mehtab Abbasi, Abdul Qadir Baloch and Zahid Khan while federal secretary SAFRON will perform duties as secretary of the committee.
The committee will effectively commence work to produce strategic plan for bring FATA into national flow. The notification stated that the committee will envisage recommendations in light of suggestions from all stakeholders of FATA.
