SARGODHA: Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) MNA and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly (NA) Syed Khurshid Shah has said that political victimization in the name of accountability was not acceptable at all.

Talking to media persons here on Sunday, Khurshid Shah said that his party was in favour of strict action against corrupt elements but sparing the Punjab province in accountability reveals as it was all well here and the corruption exists in the other three provinces only.

He said that masses were deprived of basic life amenities including health facilities, clean drinking water and employment opportunities but the government was concentrating on projects like Metro Bus Service which were aimed at political gains only.

The Opposition Leader denied of contacting PTI leader Shafqat Mehmood to persuade him to withdraw in favour of Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the PML-N candidate for slot of speaker in NA.

He said that keeping in view the concerns of the masses and allegations leveled by some political leaders, he will suggest to hold second phase of Local Bodies election under supervision of Pakistan Army. Khurshid Shah suggested the PTI chairman Imran Khan to take rest for some time to get rid of frustration.

To a question, he said that Imran Khan can himself tell whether he was going to get married for the third time or not.
