Indian police arrest Syed Ali Gilani in Srinagar

SRINAGAR: Indian occupied Kashmir Police have detained the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, along with dozens of Hurriyet leaders and activists in Srinagar.

The police took him under their custody with other Hurriyet leaders and activists when he came out of his Hyderpora residence and tried to proceed towards the TRC ground in connection with the Million March.

The veteran leader had announced the Million March to pretest against Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s visit to the Kashmir Valley.

The arrested leaders and activists were lodged at Humhama police station. The police also arrested several Hurriyet leaders and activists including Zamruda Habib near Lal Chowk in Srinagar when they tried to march towards TRC ground.

Meanwhile, in a novel way of protest, the people of Srinagar released black balloons into air to show their resentment against the visit of Indian balloons Prime Minister.
