After 50 hours youth rescued alive from debris of Lahore building

LAHORE: A young man has been rescued alive after 50 hours from the rubbles of Lahore Sunder Industrial Estate building collapse incident on Friday.

DCO Lahore has confirmed that the youth, Shahid, 19, was stuck for 50 hours under the rubbles and has been retrieved alive.

Rescue sources said he has been shifted to Jinnah Hospital for medical treatment.

Death toll of the labourers killed in four-storey building collapse reaches 38, while dozens others are injured as rescue work is underway.

Police said that polythene shopping bags were being manufactured in the factory and many labourers were residing in the factory. Construction work was being carried out on fourth floor when the building collapsed.
