KARACHI: Pakistan Taliban claimed to ‘successfully target’ military helicopter boarded with Norwegia, Philippine, Malaysian and Indonesian high-ups in Gilgit-Baltistan, foreign news agency reported here on Friday.
Helicopter crash incident took place in Gilgit Baltistan today that killed two pilots, a crew member, Norwegian Ambassador Leif Larsen, Philippines Ambassador Domingo Lucenario Jr and the wives of the Malaysian and Indonesian ambassadors to Pakistan.
The Pakistani Taliban claimed that they had hit the chopper with a ground-to-air missile hoping to assassinate Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif who was flying to the region at the same time, AFP reported.
