JI Karachi dispatches aid for earthquake victims

KARACHI: Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi’s welfare wing Al-Khidmat Welfare Society has dispatched three trucks full of relief items, food and essential commodities as the first aid tranche to the earthquake affected areas.

JI Karachi Amir Engr. Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the JI would left no stone unturned for the support of fellow citizens who are facing hardships in the affected areas.

He said that camps would be erected for collection of donations at more than 50 spots across the city.

The JI leader appealed youngsters to come forward and volunteer themselves for relief and rehabilitation activities in the affected areas. He added that the JI would also provide training of welfare activities and rescue operations to its volunteers.

He informed the media that 2700 volunteers of Alkhidmat and a fleet of 65 ambulances are already engaged in rescue and relief operations in the affected areas.

He hailed the role of JI’s volunteers’ zeal and spirit. He also praised the role of army personnel who are engaged in the rescue and relief operations, while the JI leader strictly criticized the role of the government and Disaster Management Authorities.

He demanded of the government to shun their luxuries and exceeded expenses and focus on the rescue and rehabilitation of the earthquake victims.
