MULTAN: An implacable man set a 20-year-girl on fire after failure in rape attempt here on Friday. The girl was hospitalized and police arrested the accused.
Police said that in Basti Malook of Multan, a youth tried to rape 20-year-girl while she was on her way to agricultural fields. The girl offered strong resistance and upon failure the wicked culprit identified as Latif doused the girl with diesel and set her on fire and fled the scene.
The girl was rushed to Nishtar Hospital Multan, in critical condition where according to hospital sources 50 percent body of the victim was burnt because of fire and she was struggling for life.
The police arrested the accused in a raid and after registering a case against him started an investigation.
