Shiv Sena attack: Pakistan-India series postponed

The highly anticipated Pakistan and India series which is scheduled to take place in December, now has been postponed, Indian media reported on Tuesday.

As per details, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shahryar Khan met Indian Primer League (IPL) chairman Rajeev Shukla today in Delhi where it was decided to postpone the bilateral series amid at ongoing tension between both countries.

India had signed a MOU to play five series against the Green-Shirts in between 2015 to 2025. First series was scheduled for December, which is now postponed.

PCB Chairman and PCB chief executive committee member Najam Sethi had visited India to get the assurance for the series for which they had to meet Board of Cricket Control India (BCCI) chief Shashank Manohar and other government officials.

Their meeting had been cancelled following Indian activist organisation Shiv Sena attacked BCCI headquarters in Mumbai.

They activist party workers also threaten Pakistani Umpire Aleem Dar who was scheduled to perform his duty between India and South Africa series.

The threats led International Cricket Council (ICC) withdrawing Aleem Dar from South Africa and India series while Wasim Akram and Shoaib Akhter also refused to commentate in 5th ODI between the two sides amid at security concerns in Mumbai.
