ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday extended the tenure of six election tribunals until June 30.
The tribunals have been formed for hearing elections pleas of last general elections which were held in May 11 2013.
The ECP has issued notification for the extension in tenures of the country-wide six tribunals. These tribunals are working in Lahore, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Multan, Peshawar and Hyderabad.
More than 30 petitions are pending in all the tribunals.
