UNITED NATIONS: Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations (UN) Maleeha Lodhi on Friday said Pakistan was committed to finding a peaceful and win-win solution of the Kashmir conflict.
‘Longstanding disputes like Kashmir have to be addressed for peace and stability in the South Asia,’ she said while speaking at the UN General Assembly.
She said UN resolutions pledging a plebiscite to allow the Kashmiri people to exercise their right to self-determination have not been implemented.
Maleeha made it clear that consultations with Kashmiris who are an integral part of the dispute were essential to evolving a peaceful solution.
The representative to UN said Pakistan was ready to engage in a dialogue with India on all outstanding issues.
The ambassador of Pakistan also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promote peace and stability in Afghanistan.
