JI, MQM make alliance to contest Peshawar Cantonment Board election together

PESHAWAR: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) have joined together to contest Peshawar’s Cantonment Board election as the two parties made alliance for the election, district in-charge of the MQM Muhammad Naeem said.

According to the MQM district leader talks were underway with the JI for contesting the elections together, while formal announcement of the alliance will be announced on Tuesday’s (today) evening.

The report said that the MQM will support to JI on three out of five seats in Peshawar cantonment elections and in return JI will extend support to MQM on remaining two seats.

The parties will be holding a press conference at 5 pm today (April 14), while the meeting between the two is underway.
