ISLAMABAD: Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani on Monday rejected the resignations of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) lawmakers.
While chairing the senate meeting, he said that they were bound to follow the law and constitution. He was of the view that MQM gave resignations to show their protest and added that according to law they have to check the authenticity of each resignation when submitted jointly.
While issuing the ruling, Raza Rabbani said that chairman senate and speaker national assembly have to verify the signature on every resignation. He continued that the resignations were not submitted individually and it was the party decision.
