LAHORE: Jamat-e-Islami (JI) has on Sunday announced its support for Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in by-elections of NA-122, local media reported.
The decision was taken after a meeting between the two political parties in Lahore. Re-polling in NA-122 has dominated the national politics after Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) disqualified the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) candidate Sardar Ayaz Sadiq .
PTI had submitted a case of rigging against the former general assembly speaker. Both parties are campaigning vigorously to claim the seat. By-elections will be held on Oct 11.
