HARARE: Pakistan have clean swept Zimbabwe in two match Twenty 20 (T20) series played at Harare Sports Club on Tuesday.
Green-shirts defended a low total against the host to claim the series 2-0. Sean Williams despite scoring unbeaten 40 failed to cross the winning line.
The visitors after winning the toss posted 137 runs target with Umar Akmal leading the charge, scoring unbeaten 38 while Sohaib Maqsood made 26 runs.
Skipper Shahid Afridi once again failed to score in the series as he departed after adding just 2 runs to the total.
Zimbabwean bowlers Panyangara and Jongwe took two wickets each. Cremer and Utseya grabbed one wicket each in the match.
Host in reply felt 15 runs short from the target despite the valiant efforts by Sikandar Raza (36), and Williams (40).
Mohammad Irfan and Imran Khan took two wickets each for the tourist. While Sohail Tanvir and Imad Wasim bagged a wicket each.
Wasim was named man of the series due his all-round performance in the series while Akmal impressive 38 earned him man of the match award.
With this victory Pakistan have climbed on the 2nd position in International Cricket Council (ICC) T20 rankings.
