SC annulled tribunal decision on NA-154, restore PMLN MNA

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday has annulled tribunal decision on NA-154 and restored Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz’s (PML-N) candidate Siddique Khan Baloch as Member National Assembly.

The three-member bench headed by Justice Saqib Nisar hearing the petition filed by PML-N candidate, annulled tribunal decision on NA-154 Lodhran.

It is pertinent to mention here that the Election Tribunal giving its judgment on NA-154 disqualified PML-N’s Siddique Khan Baloch and ordered reelections in the constituency on October 11.

For the elections PML-N given ticket to Siddique Khan Baloch’s son, Umair Khan to contest against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) secretary general Jahangir Tareen in NA-154.

Siddique Khan Baloch had won the seat in 2013 as independent candidate and later joined PML-N. However, he was disqualified for life for submitting fake degree and on rigging allegations. Siddique had violated Articles 62 and 63.
