Peshawar PAF base attack: 13 terrorists killed

PESHAWAR: Terrorists in early hours of Friday have attacked Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Badabar base camp however, troops defended the premises and gunned down as many as 13 militants.

Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) spokesperson confirmed the attack and said 13 terrorists were killed by the military troops while two PAF personnel embraced martyrdom.

At least 10 personnel including two officers sustain injuries in militant attack, ISPR said.

Militants attacked a guard room in Friday’s wee hours. Quick reaction force reached the site, surrounded, isolated them. Exchange of fire continues, DG ISPR Asim Bajwa tweeted.”

 

 

According to residents, at least a dozen small and large explosions were heard from inside the base. “We have been hearing firing for the past one hour and nothing is clear what is going on,” a local resident, Mukamal Shah, said.

pw2 He said six terrorists had been killed so far, while the rest had been confined to a small area.

Bajwa confirmed that around seven to 10 terrorists had attempted to break into the camp. The terrorists had been engaged and contained around the guard room area of the camp.
