QUETTA: Frontier Corps (FC) carried out operation with help of intelligence agencies and arrested eight suspects allegedly involved in an armed attack on the Jiwani airport in Gwadar district.
The personnel raided along with intelligence agencies and detained eight suspects who belonged to banned militant outfit and were involved in terror activities and acts of target killing.
The suspects have been shifted to an unknown location for further investigation, FC spokesperson said.
It is pertinent to mention here that, at least two Civil Aviation Authority engineers were killed when heavily-armed militants launched the attack on CAA installations at the Jiwani airport near Balochistan’s Gwadar port in the early hours of August 30.
The attackers damaged technical aviation navigation equipment and destroyed the VOR system that helps navigation during the landing of aircraft.
