LAHORE: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has imposed ban on new recruitment in Punjab as LG polls schedule announced in the province.
The ECP said the district government of Lahore cannot fill vacant positions following the announcement of schedule for local government elections in Punjab. It said the new appointments before the polls could influence the scheduled elections.
The ECP has also taken notice of funds issued to the elected representatives by the Punjab and Sindh provinces in the wake of the Commission’s restriction imposed on such disbursements prior to elections.
